All Grade 7 students can be immunized against hepatitis B, human papillomavirus (HPV) and meningococcal disease. Although vaccinations against Hepatitis B and HPV diseases are voluntary, students are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. Vaccination against meningococcal disease is required under the Immunization of School Pupils Act for school attendance in Ontario. Vaccine clinics provided by York Region Public Health offered in school have been suspended this year due to COVID-19.
We will be offering these vaccines at our office for those children who are in grade 7 and 8 this year and who have not yet received their initial vaccine or their second dose boosters. This clinic will run on Saturday, April 17th from 8:30am-2:30pm by appointment only.
You MUST book an appointment by Saturday April 3rd. Booking an appointment for this clinic will be online only . Please click here to book your childs online appointment.
Once you register your child’s information will be sent to public health who will determine which shots will be given.
